Aviv Nevo’s work focuses on empirical industrial organization and econometrics. Much of his work has been on estimating demand for consumer packaged goods and its implications for price competition, mergers, marketing and consumer welfare. He has also done work looking at the real estate brokerage industry. He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society. He was awarded a National Science Foundation Early Career Development grant, and is a research associate of the National Bureau of Economic Research. He is a co-editor of the RAND Journal of Economics. Aviv is currently serving as the Deputy Assistant Attorney General for Economic Analysis (the "chief economist") at the Antitrust Division of the Department of Justice.
