Ulrich Laitenbergerb

Ulrich Laitenberger studied economics at the University of Würzburg and the University Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona, specializing in industrial organisation and econometrics. He participated in the Doctoral Program Applied Economics at the Catholic University Leuven. In November 2015, he graduated with a thesis entitled "Empirical Essays in Industrial Organization" which focuses on the one hand on the workings, the detection and the prosecution of cartels and on the other hand on procurement auctions in health care markets. Since April 2011, Ulrich Laitenberger has been working at ZEW. From 2012 to 2015 he was member of the Research Group "Competition and Regulation", working mostly in the field of competitive strategy and competition policy. Since January 2016, he works in the Department of Information and Communication Technologies. His general research interests are empirical industrial organization, competition policy and ICT. In particular, he currently focusses on the functioning and competition on digital markets and platforms.
